BECOMING KINGDOM: The Goal Is Not Becoming a Better Version of Yourself
Over the last month, I've found myself reflecting on a question that has become increasingly important in our culture:
What does it mean to become the person God created us to be?
Many voices today encourage us to become the best version of ourselves. Others talk about becoming more human. While there is truth in those ideas, I've come to believe that the ultimate goal is not self-improvement. The goal is becoming Kingdom.
Humanity was never the destination. It was the starting point.
From the beginning, God created mankind to walk with Him, represent Him, steward His creation, and expand His rule throughout the earth. Adam and Eve were more than humans; they were citizens of God's Kingdom, entrusted with His purposes and His presence.
That reality still shapes our calling today.
As followers of Christ, we are not simply trying to become better people. We are learning how to live as sons and daughters of the King. We are receiving our identity from Him, learning His ways, participating in His mission, and growing into the people we were always created to be.
This truth has become especially meaningful to me as I've stepped into a new challenge this season.
For years, I've been most comfortable behind the camera, producing content and helping others share their stories. Recently, however, I sensed the Lord leading me to step in front of the camera and begin sharing the Kingdom revelation He has been developing in my life over the last decade.
If I'm honest, it's stretching me.
Starting the Becoming Kingdom vlog has required me to do hard things, face insecurities, and embrace discomfort. Yet obedience often begins where comfort ends.
My prayer is that these conversations help others discover what the Holy Spirit has been teaching me: that the Kingdom of God is not merely a future destination. It is a present reality that transforms how we live, lead, create, serve, and love.

RCC Health & Wellness Block Party
One of the highlights of our summer is the annual RCC Health & Wellness Block Party, one of RCC's largest community outreach events of the year.
This free family-friendly event brings together healthcare providers, fitness professionals, community organizations, and local residents for a day focused on health, well-being, and connection. Guests can enjoy free health screenings, wellness resources, activities for children, live entertainment, free dinner, and plenty of opportunities to connect with the community.
GoBU will once again bring out the Mobile Stage, provide music throughout the event, and close the evening with one of our favorite traditions—a Christian line dance celebration.
If you've ever been curious about urban ministry, local outreach, or experiencing a diverse Christ-centered community outside of your normal circles, this is a wonderful opportunity to do so. Come meet new people, learn something new, and experience the beauty of the Kingdom expressed through community.

Despite an unusually rainy month that forced several schedule changes throughout the city, we were grateful to see the GoBU Mobile Stage serve a successful Juneteenth celebration. It was encouraging to watch communities gather, connect, and celebrate together.

New Ministry Partnership Developing
We're also beginning conversations around a new ministry partnership that we believe has exciting Kingdom potential. While details are still being finalized, we're praying for wisdom and discernment as this relationship develops.
Growing the Leadership Team
One of the biggest wins of the month has been welcoming a new leader to our leadership team. As we prepare for our upcoming July leadership retreat, we're focused on strengthening our team, deepening relationships, and building the systems needed for future growth.
We're also beginning conversations around a new ministry partnership that we believe has exciting Kingdom potential. While details are still being finalized, we're praying for wisdom and discernment as this relationship develops.

This project represents one of the most important messages I've ever shared. It captures lessons God has taught me through discipleship, identity, healing, purpose, and learning to live as a citizen of Heaven.
